The most visited page on this website, is the 'Bus Blog'. Immediately behind it in stats is the 'Our Bus' page. Apparently there are some curious souls that browse the website wondering how 9 people will fit inside for a year. I'll admit that there was a curiosity factor that we satisfied for ourselves when we were on the bus hunt in early 2010- to see inside buses we'd only watched drive by on the highway, or had seen in the star magazines. A bona-fide entertainer bus is a sight to behold. We're getting used to the stares and recognize that people are just curious.
That being said, people are looking hard at this bus! What if we could offer you a space that was 3 1/2 feet high by 16 feet long to advertise your message or business? (Over a hundred square feet on both sides) Nationally along the highways, byways, tourist attractions, campgrounds and all points in between? An opportunity like this doesn't come along very often.
Here's your chance: We are in discussion with a couple of national business interests, that are moving slowly- and may not be able to put them together before our departure. We had another thought- offer the space up to folks that drop by ourBigtrip.us, and see if we can't strike a deal with a visiting friend in time to leave, with YOU as our sponsor?
When we say sponsor, we're talking about offering up a part of the bus's image to help defray fuel expenses. We realize that fuel will be a big part of our budget, and we recognize the potential exposure this trip will create - so we hope to work together with an interesting sponsor to both of our benefits.
There's only one rule: we have to be comfortable with the message. Since we'll probably become ambassadors of whatever ends up on the side, we should probably be able to intelligently discuss it and be comfortable having our photos taken with the big ad in the background on the road. We understand that we might not find a good match for our trip, but we're interested in talking about it.
That being said? This could be fun! Imagine the exposure and goodwill your message will generate. We could incorporate a traveling objective in conjunction with a sponsor (geocaching, restaurant chain, campground franchise, outdoor clothing line, tourist marketing, internet service, etc etc etc) or just allow it to be seen all over the United States and let your future clients or website visitors wonder what's inside that big ol' bus?!?!
Contact us immediately if you have any interest in this concept. Time is short and if we don't find a suitable sponsor, we'll install a graphic that will conceal the 'white space' before we leave, which will increase the cost if we locate a great sponsorship partner down the road.
If you don't want to be a sponsor, but have an idea along these lines, would you share it with us? You can download the media release below. This page will disappear when the opportunity is gone- don't delay!
